Madison, Miss. (August 3, 2018) – Vertex Aerospace LLC was acquired by New York based private equity firm American Industrial Partners June 30, 2018, in a $550 million deal and has named Madison as its new headquarters. Vertex was purchased from L3 Technologies, along with Crestview Aerospace LLC, Flight International LLC, and TCS Aerospace LLC, to establish a global one-stop-shop solution, providing full aftermarket aerospace services.

Vertex Aerospace, a vertically integrated aerospace company, was originally founded in Mississippi in 1977 as Beech Aerospace Services, Inc. The company provides global aircraft technical support, integrated supply chain management, aero‐structures modification and fabrication services, and assembly and engineering solutions for both fixed and rotary‐wing aircraft.

The company will add over 70 jobs to its headquarters over the next two years, bringing the current Madison employee count to approximately 420. John Ed Boyington, Jr., President and CEO of Vertex Aerospace, said he is very pleased with the company’s new partners and grateful for the opportunity to be a global aerospace business based in Mississippi.

“This acquisition provides significant growth potential throughout our organization’s 100 worldwide locations,” said Boyington. “That being said, we are now a Mississippi based corporation and we plan to leverage local businesses’ support whenever possible.”

The company’s merger with Crestview Aerospace in Northwest Florida, TCS Aerospace in Warner Robins, Georgia, and Flight International in Williamsburg, Virginia, adds aircraft modification and systems integration to the Vertex Aerospace arsenal in support of its mission to provide global aerospace services to its customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
